Logging into Editorial Manager
Shakespeare Quarterly considers only essays that are submitted through Editorial Manager, our online manuscript submission system.
If you have ever submitted any work to Shakespeare Quarterly or have provided us with a reader’s report in the past, you have a preexisting Editorial Manager account. Please visit Editorial Manager to log into your existing account. Please do not create additional accounts.
To set up a new account, please visit Editorial Manager and click on the “Register Now” link. You will be asked to provide your current mailing address, email address, and institutional affiliation if applicable. If you are not affiliated with an institution, enter “N/A” into that field.
Submitting via Editorial Manager
After logging into Editorial Manager as an author, click on “Submit New Manuscript” in the main menu. Editorial Manager will then require you to provide a title and a 250-word abstract; it will then prompt you to upload your document (.doc, .docx), create a PDF of your materials, and require you to approve that PDF. If you do not approve the PDF at this stage, Editorial Manager will not recognize your essay as a submission, and your essay will not appear in the system.
Once we process your submission, you will receive a manuscript number in an automated confirmation email.
