¶ 1Leave a comment on paragraph 1 0 Want to read an essay? Each submission for the issue appears as a separate page in the table of contents. You can proceed to an individual essay by clicking on the link in the table of contents on the right of the screen. The arrows at the top of the reading window will take you to the next or the previous essay. If you do not see the table of contents window (e.g., if you have the comments window open), you can click the open book icon at the top of the right side-bar to pull up the table of contents.
¶ 2Leave a comment on paragraph 2 0 Want to read the comments? Comments are attached either to individual paragraphs or to the entire essay. Comments on individual paragraphs can be read by clicking either on the paragraph number on the left of the paragraph or on the speech bubble to the right of the paragraph (the number following the bubble indicates the number of comments on that paragraph). The comments will then appear in the right-hand part of the screen. You can also jump directly to a paragraph’s commentary by clicking on the link in the right-hand comment column. When those comments open, the essay will scroll down and highlight the paragraph being discussed. Comments on an entire essay can be accessed by clicking on the topmost link in the right-hand comment column, “Comments on the whole page.”
¶ 3Leave a comment on paragraph 3 0 You can also access comments through the icons at the top of the screen. The two-speech bubble icon will bring up all commentary on the “After SAA” site, and the single-speech bubble will bring up the general comments about the entire site. The people icon will allow you to access comments sorted by their author; clicking on a user’s name will open up all their comments, and clicking again will toggle those shut. (Information on how to leave a comment may be found here.)
¶ 4Leave a comment on paragraph 4 0 Want to read a footnote? Footnotes are readable by rolling over a footnote marker like this one ; they’re also included as commentable text in the notes pages at the text’s end.
¶ 5Leave a comment on paragraph 5 0 Want to change how the screen looks? The width of the columns can be adjusting by dragging the right-hand border of the main text column. You can close and open the header by toggling the up and down arrow icon on the far right at the top of the screen.
