Thomas Cartelli

Thomas Cartelli is Professor of English and Film Studies at Muhlenberg College. He is author of Marlowe, Shakespeare, and the Economy of Theatrical Experience (University of Pennsylvania Press, 1991) and Repositioning Shakespeare: National Formations, Postcolonial Appropriations (Routledge, 1999); coauthor (with Katherine Rowe) of New Wave Shakespeare on Screen (Polity Press, 2007); editor of the Norton Critical Edition of Shakespeare’s “Richard III” (2009) and of two additional single-text editions of Richard III for The Norton Shakespeare 3 (2016). The essay published in this issue represents ongoing work on a book-in-progress provisionally entitled Re-enacting Shakespeare in the Shakespeare Aftermath.
