Sujata Iyengar

Sujata Iyengar, Professor of English at the University of Georgia, is author of Shades of Difference: Mythologies of Skin Color in Early Modern England (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2005); Shakespeare’s Medical Language  (Arden Bloomsbury, 2011); and editor of Disability, Health, and Happiness in the Shakespearean Body  (Routledge, 2015). With Christy Desmet, she cofounded and coedits the award-winning online scholarly periodical Borrowers and Lenders: The Journal of Shakespeare and Appropriation. She is currently at work on a monograph, “Shakespeare and the Art of the Book,” that investigates print affordances in Shakespearean books as aesthetic and scholarly interventions.
