Remedios Perni is an Assistant Professor at the department of English Philology of the University of Alicante (Spain). She holds a PhD in English Literature from the University of Murcia, where she graduated both in Art History and English Studies. Her research pays attention to the connections between Shakespeare’s works and the visual arts, focusing on the afterlives of characters such as Ophelia and Lucrece. Perni has published on the role of Ophelia in the history of photography, and on politically engaged appropriations of Shakespeare. She is also a critical theory and literary translator.
