Douglas M. Lanier

Douglas Lanier is Professor of English at the University of New Hampshire. For 2016–17 he served as the Fulbright Global Shakespeare Distinguished Chair at Queen Mary University London and the University of Warwick. He has published widely on the adaptation of Shakespeare in mass media, including his book, Shakespeare and Modern Popular Culture (2002), in addition to articles on Jonson, Milton, Marston, the Jacobean masque, and adaptation theory. He is currently working on two projects, a study of Othello on screen worldwide, and a book on The Merchant of Venice for the Arden Language and Writing series.
